Legislation across the European Union requires that all applicable items of pressure equipment placed on the market by May 2002 must be fully compliant with the P E D 97 / 23 / EC.

Fasteners have to be made from steel listed in EN 10269 or they have to be approved in a “Particular Material Appraisal”.
Bumax 88 is approved according to such a P M A and in addition also to AD2000 V2. AD-W0 / TRD 100.

The product types manufactured in Bumax 88, and approved for pressure vessels are M6 – M24 and ¼ - 1” UNC with a minimum length of 3 x d (3 x nominal thread diameter). Bumax 88 is approved for use in a temperature zone between –200 °C up to 400 °C. The whole Bumax range is stocked and can be found on the catalogue pages marked with orange colour.

Bumax 88 for pressure vessels is supplied with a certificate according to EN 10204-3.1.B, stating that the products are approved in accordance with P E D 97 / 23 / EC.
