Bumax Lock is an all-metal lock nut. It is equipped with a specially designed thread profile that locks when it is tightened, distributing the tensile stress along the entire nut thread. Bumax Lock is suitable also at elevated temperature were traditional lock nuts with non metallic insert does not work. Bumax lock made from heat resistant Stainless steel is frequently used in the automotive industry for high temperature applications.

Bumax lock is very easy to assemble thanks to the fact that the nut is free spinning and does not lock until the joint is tightened. For correct tightening torque, se “Tightening torque and Forces” and please note that Bumax lock needs a higher tightening torque than standard threads. Bumax lock does not work in joints with soft base material unable to carry the force from preloading
